Join Mike Houck on a paddle around Ross Island to celebrate the designation of the Ross Island Lagoon by the Oregon State Marine Board as a No Wake Zone, and the continuing effort to get the same designation on the entire Holgate Channel. In addition to a refreshing wintertime paddle around Ross, Hardtack, East and Toe Islands, this trip highlights will include waterfowl, Bald Eagles and Peregrine Falcons. You’ll also get information about the Friends of Ross Island and how you can volunteer with the Audubon Society of Portland, Willamette Riverkeeper, Portland Parks and Recreation, and Friends of Ross Island on clean ups and restoration activities.
Trips are free (unless otherwise noted) and pre-registration is required. Trip size is limited, please register early. For those who do not have access to the web they can register by calling 503-292-6855, ask to be transferred to #112.
